We had to be at the airport for 5am on Saturday morning so it was a super early start for us! I’m definitely not a morning person so it was a struggle even though we were heading on our holidays! Thankfully everything went smoothly at the airport and during the flight. Both girls were very well behaved, we hardly heard a peep from either during the 3.5 hour flight. We arrived at our beautiful apartment around lunchtime, unpacked and got the girls a nap before heading out for a few drinks and to watch the football. We decided that an early night was a good idea so got a take away and headed back to the apartment.
On Sunday we took a walk to the local golf course to get the boys booked in for a round then headed into Fuengirola for some lunch and shopping. It was a beautiful day – very toasty! In the afternoon we took Mya back for a nap then headed to the pool for a splash around. It’s a really quiet pool area which was great for us and both girls enjoyed playing in the water. We enjoyed a lovely Italian for tea!
The boys played a round of golf on Monday morning. Laura, the girls and I spent the morning relaxing at the apartment then we met the boys for lunch. In the afternoon we headed to Fuengirola Zoo – it was a great afternoon. Eva ran about the whole time spotting all of the different animals and Mya slept for the majority of the time we were there! We headed for some cocktails by the beach after while both girls napped. When Eva woke, she had a temperature and was sick so we went for tea and headed home to give her an early night. I think she was a bit dehydrated as she was fine after a mammoth sleep, some fluids and food.
Tuesday we decided to head to Benalmadena, the next resort along from where we stayed. We went to the SeaLife centre to see the fish and played a round of mini golf before enjoying some nibbles and cocktails at the marina. We spent the afternoon chilling on the balcony with a few drinks before heading out to watch a football match in the evening (clearly for the boys as I have no interest!!).
We decided that Wednesday should be a quiet relaxing day. We pottered around in the apartment and went to the pool. Eva had a fab time and I have to admit it was lovely to have a couple of fairly relaxing hours just lounging around. We headed into Fuengirola late afternoon and went for a wee train ride to see the sights! This was at Eva’s request – one of the only things she asked to do all week. In the evening we enjoyed a delicious meal at a recommended restaurant – it was one of the best we had all week.
Thursday was a super lazy day spent by the pool and in the apartment. We had a BBQ in the afternoon and just lazed about. In the evening we headed to a couple of bars.
Friday was our last day so we took Eva to the beach in Fuengirola – I’m not a huge fan of the beach but it was lovely to see her slashing around in the sea and having lots of fun. In the evening we headed to our favourite restaurant of the week for another amazing meal. A fab way to round of our week in the sun.
We had a fantastic week with enjoying lots of time together as a family. There was lots of laughs, delicious food, yummy cocktails and precious memories made! Until next time…💕
